In its anniversary year 2024, the German Biobank Node (GBN) is publishing a series of videos in which representatives of biobanks and other supporters and partners express their congratulations, look back on the activities and successes of the past ten years and formulate their wishes for the future.
A strong community
In the fourth video "Growing together: The biobank community", Dr. Gabriele Anton, Dr. Ronny Baber, Prof. Dr. Thomas Illig, Dr. Romy Kirsten, Prof. Dr. Martin Lablans and PD Dr. Sara Nussbeck describe the strong community of biobankers that the GBN has brought together in recent years. Martin Lablans (German Cancer Research Center, Heidelberg) characterises the biobank network as "an extraordinarily constructive community that has been tackling common problems and finding solutions together for ten years". And Ronny Baber (Leipzig Medical Biobank) says: "We help each other because that is our daily business. We try to make research possible."
